Hey, readers!
How are you faring this cold November? I'm pretty sure some of you aren't even that cold (cough, people in Georgia, cough) (people in California, cough). Tonight I saw a movie (Blue Is the Warmest Color) and I got a drink at a bar that opened...like a year ago...downtown (Vellum), but it was new to me and it was good. I also tried to pick my bike up from Main Street but I remembered that not having my housekeys with me and having to have Cooper lock the apartment door meant I also did not have my bike key with me. Whoops.
So, readers:
What did you eat for dinner tonight? How ready for Thanksgiving are you? I'm most excited to only work one job a day Wednesday-Friday, and no jobs Thursday. Also, Cooper and I are hosting his mom and sister for Thanksgiving, which will be weird/fun.
I also read this poem today, via The Hairpin. I like just the title, but also the poem itself. November: I no longer hate it so much, but I really used to.

On the Plus Side, My Bed Is Comfy
I started my health care application today. It is not geared toward people with temporary income, and of course, my most temporary job, which will have ended before my insurance coverage begins, pays at least 50% more than all other jobs I've had in the past two years. So that's screwing up the data.
Also I am scared of this temporary job ending, and what I am supposed to do with myself, day in, day out*, for the rest of my life, and also, everything, always. So I'm gonna say that attempting to apply for health insurance was good enough for now, and goodnight, world, I'm gonna be sleepy tomorrow.

*Or as Estorbo de la Bodega Dominicana would say, "dayeen, dayoud"—I've been reading 66 Square Feet for a year and a half, but only noticed her cat's blog (which actually came first) two days ago. I love it and wish that our fake cat narratives were as well-rounded as hers.

Happy Saturday
I am so tired and I'm getting up in basically seven hours so I can pack a lunch and pick some clothes (so hard to do in the dark while that other lucky person gets to remain in bed for hours) and be clean and whatever else I have to do in time to be at work at eight a.m. Hard times, seriously.
Getting up early isn't so bad, at least for work at nine, or even eight forty-five.
I am a zombie now, and will be a zombie at six whatever-the-fuck, though. Godless hour.
I guess that's all the hours.
Today I couldn't write a good blog post, again!, but this time, it's because the dog ate my keyboard.
Or because my brother called and offered me our homemade applesauce from last week, finally, and also chicken paprikash on spaetzle and you know, just like I don't say no when someone likes me well enough to offer me a job, I don't say no when someone offers me free, delicious food. So now tomorrow instead of today will be my no-fun-humans night, so that maybe maybe maybe I can make a little headway toward feeling calm and on track and in charge of this life. Just in time for three awfully busy days.
I signed up for that third shift at the third job, but I can't say I'm looking forward to the nonexistent down time and then this whole blogging requirement. At least my thighs have (mostly) recovered from their first dedicated workout in six months last Saturday. Gah.

Correlation, Causation, Nope
Apparently, the Rudolph who attends the Grosse Pointe Thanksgiving Parade (and delivers the presents to little Grosse Pointers?) hasn't grown his full antlers yet. He looks pretty sad.
If reindeer delivered fresh-baked bread to Trader Joe's, I could blame Rudolph or Santa or Dasher or Dancer or Prancer or Blitzen for there being no fresh bread that day. They were too busy showing off at the parade.
Where Are My Potato Chips?
Yesterday was never-ending rain.
Today is sunshine.
I've seen potato chips on two separate desks in this office. Clipped shut. Abandoned.
Can I just eat some chips and leave while there's still light?
